This fall blues, purples, fuchsia, orange and deep red are in the palette. We think these are excellent colors to mix for your fall landscape and container plantings. Blue and orange are a fantastic complementary color combination that can be achieved by combining blue Lobelia or blue petunias with orange mums. You can also create a stunning purple and orange combo using Angelonia or purple petunias with orange garden mums or marigolds. Did you know that marigolds are an excellent fall annual? They perform much better in fall temperatures than they do in spring and summer.

If you're looking to make a bold statement, fuchsia and orange can be a stunning combination. Again, you can pair fall marigolds with fuchsia or hot pink fall petunias. Red and blue can also be a bold and beautiful combination. Pair blue Lobelia or blue petunias with deep red petunias or snapdragons. Looking for something a bit more regal? Go with a purple and red combination. Deep purple petunias or Angelonia paired with dark red mums or red petunias offers up a rich look. When combined with confidence bold color combinations such as these can be quite sophisticated.

To add in a gray or silver contrast, go with dusty miller or Centaurea 'Colchester White'. These beautiful foliage plants will help balance your color scheme and add foliage interest.
