Pathways Don’t Have to Be Boring!

April 30, 2015 | By webadmin

Great hardscape features can really make a great landscape...but sometimes we need to soften them up a bit with some greenery. We recently installed a sophisticated walkway and gate that leads guests to the home’s entry. While the space did have plants on either side of the walkway, we thought that by incorporating some groundcover directly into the walkway would really liven up the space and add some low-maintenance color.

Do you have a hardscape space that needs a bit of green? Dwarf mondo grass can be interplanted amongst stone in shadier spots. In sunnier locations, creeping thyme makes for an aromatic groundcover perfect for growing between stones. Waterwise creeping Sedum can be planted amongst your stone work and even in the cracks of walls around the landscape. Plants incorporated into your hardscape softens the look and makes the entire space much more interesting.
