Despite the recent rains, we know that Texas weather can change on a dime and we could be facing a hot and very dry summer. Even though some of our lakes have risen and some water restrictions have been loosened, North Texas is still under drought conditions. Here are some tips to help you water the right way once the rainfall subsides.

Irrigation Check Up

When was the last time you had your irrigation system checked, audited or repaired? Broken sprinkler heads, improperly set zones or pressure problems can water waste a lot of water without the problem being very obvious. We highly suggest having a certified irrigation specialist check your system. A specialist can assess if your irrigation needs to be repaired or if it needs to be adjusted.

A smart controller, such as the Weathermatic SmartLine controller, can be added to your existing system to help you save water and time. Smart controllers can adjust watering schedules for different types of plants and soil types. Plus, you have the option of controlling it from your smartphone or computer. That means you can still control and monitor your system no matter where you are.

Studies have shown that switching to a smart controller can help you save up to 70% of the water you were previously wasting in your landscape through water runoff or inefficient watering.
